Kink
 Safe
Space

Professionals outside of the community do not understand the intricacies within certain BDSM, kink, dynamics. People hesitate to disclose relationship details to their therapists, due to the fear of being reported for "abuse," when in fact, the play was consensual.

Additionally, many professional counselors are not trained in fetish work. You are safe here.

About Me

I began my academic journey at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB), where I earned my undergraduate degree and served as a University Ambassador. This experience laid the foundation for my passion for community engagement and support, which has guided my professional path ever since.

After completing my Master’s in Administration from CSUB in 2005, I took on the role of Director of Community Outreach & Research at National Grief Support Services. In this capacity, I contributed to providing grief counseling and support to individuals and families nationwide. My work in grief support deepened my commitment to helping others navigate life's challenges, and I continued to grow professionally, advancing to a senior social worker position in Kern County.

Recognizing the importance of expanding my expertise, I returned to CSUB to pursue a Master’s in Social Work, specializing in sex counseling at the Buehler Institute. This training strengthened my ability to provide sensitive, effective care to individuals and communities with diverse needs. My clinical experience includes working with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, a welcoming and affirming space, and The Center for Sexuality & Gender Diversity. These experiences reinforced my dedication to serving marginalized and underserved populations with empathy and expertise.

In 2021, I was licensed as a therapist and founded Cal Care Therapy, where I provide compassionate, client-centered therapy. In 2022, I obtained licensure to practice in Nevada and continue to offer remote therapy services. I also remain closely connected to The Center as an independent contractor and Director of Mental Health Services, where I oversee and supervise interns while providing leadership and clinical support to the organization.

Most recently, I completed 2SLGBTQIA+-centered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training through the Yale School of Public Health, further enhancing my ability to offer evidence-based care to my clients.

I am deeply committed to creating a supportive and affirming environment for all individuals, particularly those from underserved or marginalized communities, and I remain dedicated to ongoing learning and growth in my field.

About Cal Care Therapy

Established in 2021, Cal Care Therapy opened to the underserved communities of the kink, BDSM, and LGBTQ+ populations in Bakersfield, California. During the pandemic, services were only offered virtually. However, the need was so great and grew so quickly that in under a year, Cal Care Therapy leased its first shared brick-and-mortar space to offer in-person sessions, while continuing to practice virtually. Before June 2022, the organization had gained licensure to practice psychotherapy in Nevada. By the end of 2022, Cal Care Therapy had moved into a private office suite where clients can enjoy a discreet comfortable therapeutic experience. Currently, Cal Care Therapy continues to grow steadily offering virtual and in-person sessions based on the client's needs and location.
